After your walk, before sunset: Here you’ll find everything to make your visit to Karlshöhe even better:
Our History
If you love breathtaking views and want to enjoy the Stuttgart basin and its vineyards from above, you won’t find a more beautiful spot than “Tschechen und Söhne”: From the terrace, you can see all the way to the Neckar Valley and the Schurwald.
The beer garden on the Karlshöhe is situated in the middle of a park featuring a playground and English-style gardens, which the Stuttgart Beautification Society had laid out in the 19th century around the historic quarry. For the State Garden Show in 1961, the famous Stuttgart architect Rolf Gutbrod built a stylish “covered pavilion” with a milk bar and terrace, which later became a cultural monument.
When “Marshall Gastronomies” moved to the Karlshöhe in 2004, the milk bar was renovated in close collaboration with the historic preservation office. With its 1960s color scheme, the renovation blends perfectly into the overall architectural design of the grounds. Here, you can enjoy your lunch break among exotic old trees or quench your thirst on balmy evenings while gazing at the city lights.
The menu features classic beer garden fare, ranging from sausage salad, meat patties, and white sausages to Maultaschen with potato salad, as well as vegetarian and vegan options. Our summer salads, available in a variety of styles, are particularly popular. We also serve freshly tapped Dinkelacker beer on tap, regional wines, and a selection of cakes, cappuccino, and latte macchiato.
